Tim Bennett

Tim Bennett farms in partnership with his wife Susan near Carmarthen in South West Wales.

The farm previously had a pedigree dairy herd and an egg-producing enterprise selling to local consumers. It now has a beef breeding enterprise producing high quality Aberdeen Angus beef animals.

Tim was Deputy President and then President of the National Farmers Union of England and Wales between 1998 and 2006. He was also a governor of the Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research between 2000 and 2006.

He is currently on the Council of Food From Britain, including sitting on the remuneration committee; he is a member of the Agricultural Land Tribunal for Wales and is Chair of the Milk Sector Company on the new Levy Board UK.

Tim has experience of most sectors of primary agriculture and of local retail sales, as well as wide knowledge of the food supply chain.

He also works in a voluntary capacity with the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group in Wales, which provides practical on-farm nature conservation advice.
