Timothy Douglas Davie is the seventeenth Director-General of the BBC. Davie was formerly the chief executive officer of BBC Studios (formerly known as BBC Worldwide). During his time as acting director-general he oversaw the investigations into BBC management and conduct.

A graduate of Selwyn College, Cambridge, Davie worked at Procter and Gamble (1991-93) PepsiCo (1993-2005), and has held senior executive roles at the BBC since 2005 as Director of Marketing, Communications and Audiences (05-08). He has also worked as the Director of Audio and Music (08-12), Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Television Society, and Co-Chairman of the UK’s Creative Industries Council. Tim Davie was awarded the CBE for services to international trade in 2018.
