Tim Echols

Founder of TeenPact Leadership Schools

Tim Echols was elected to the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) in the general election of November 2010 after spending 15 years in the non-profit sector.  Echols founded "TeenPact" and grew the mock legislative youth program to 38 states in his tenure.  He continues to serve on the Board of Directors.

Tim’s campaign focused on consumer protection, clean energy, and accountability. Tim also has a strong interest in the transportation responsibilities of the PSC. He was instrumental in getting a Macon TV station to do an investigative report on “rogue” moving companies who are in violation of the law and hurting legitimate businesses. Additionally, he promotes the use of CNG (compressed natural gas) as a transportation fuel and hopes one day America will be less dependent on foreign oil.

Tim grew up in the south metro Atlanta area and started his own non-profit organization, Family Resource Network.  TeenPact, a program of FRN, has grown to be a national citizenship experience for teens operating in almost 40 states.  It is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and Tim serves as President of the organization.  TeenPact has trained over 23,000 teens and children since its inception in 1994.  Tim is the author of “Real Citizenship,” available on Amazon.com.

Tim and his wife Windy have seven children ranging from 10 to 21 years old.  They have been married 27 years and live in Winterville, just outside of Athens, Georgia.  Tim has a Bachelor of Arts and two Masters degrees from the University of Georgia.
