Principal, Water Resources for Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP)

Tim Loftus, an environmental geographer, earned his PhD from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Loftus served as a faculty member in the Department of Geography and Planning at Eastern Kentucky University, director of the Water Quality Laboratory at Heidelberg College in Ohio, and joined the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission in 2005. Now at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, he manages various efforts funded by the Clean Water Act, including watershed planning and facility planning area reviews. He also directed the 11-county regional water supply planning process that concluded with the approval of Water 2050: Northeastern Illinois Regional Water Supply/Demand Plan. As principal, Loftus leads CMAP’s Environment and Natural Resources Planning Group. He also serves as the Illinois section president of the American Water Resources Association.
