Tim Peakman  

Deputy CEO, UK Biobank, and CEO, UK Biocentre.

Tim Peakman is deputy CEO of U.K. Biobank and CEO of U.K. Biocentre and has overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the organizations. He has worked at U.K. Biobank for 10 years. Prior to that, he worked as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and at Glaxo Wellcome and the Wellcome Foundation on the role of ion channels in epilepsy and pain. Peakman is an honorary senior research fellow in the Department of Genomic Epidemiology at the University of Manchester. In 2011 he was awarded the inaugural Dame Elisabeth Murdoch visiting fellowship at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia. He completed his M.B.A. at Henley Management College and doctoral studies on anaerobically regulated gene networks in bacteria at the University of Birmingham.
