Timon Kyle Durrett

Actor, Producer, Activist Author & Artist

A native of Chicago, versatile actor, artist and author Timon Kyle Durrett attended Alcorn State University where he made his mark, both in his studies and on the men’s basketball team. Soon after graduating Cum Laude, the former collegiate athlete and scholar moved to Los Angeles where he honed his craft and pursued his dream of being an actor.

After paying his dues with bit parts in independent productions, Durrett began landing larger roles on shows such as Girlfriends, Eve, CSI: NY, Heroes, The Ghost Whisperer, and Castle, among others. He also earned rave reviews in his stage debut in the national tour of Tyler Perry’s hit play The Marriage Counselor before playing the recurring role of the controversial Quinn Davis in VH1’s first-ever scripted series, Single Ladies.

Currently Durrett can be seen as Davis West, the philandering husband and father fans love to hate, on OWN TV’s hit series Queen Sugar and as conflicted husband, Luvell Burton, on ALLBLK’s series Stuck With You. He has recently wrapped filming a role in Kenya Barris’ highly anticipated reimagining of Cheaper By the Dozen for Disney+.

"I don’t just memorize lines, I do an in-depth study of my character," Durrett said in an interview when asked why he is drawn to playing scoundrels and rogues. "I research and develop the character’s back story, personality, fears and motives, so I can convey as real a portrayal as possible. I can play the good guy, but there’s something about playing the bad guy that I really like."

Durrett is also a published author and visual artist. In 2015, Durrett published his self-development booked entitled Who The Hell Do I Think I Am? which gained the attention of a whole new audience. He is currently working on a new art series, which is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2021.
