Tim Wu is a professor at Columbia Law School and a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times. Best known for his work on net neutrality theory, he has served as a senior advisor to the Federal Trade Commission, as chair of the media reform group Free Press, and as a fellow at Google.

Wu is the author of the books The Master Switch, The Attention Merchants, and The Curse of Bigness. In 2013, National Law Journal named him one of America’s 100 Most Influential Lawyers, and in 2017 he was named to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
