She made history in 2005 when she became the 3rd African American female to earn a B.S. degree in Construction Science, and the 4th to graduate from Langford College of Architecture. Immediately after graduation she began her career in the construction industry before enrolling back into Texas A&M to earn a Masters degree in Marketing from the Mays Business School. She is now the successful entrepreneur of Tina B Poetry where she continues to make a name for herself as a passionate poet with creative play on words.

It wasn’t long after writing her first poem that Tina B competed in poetry slams and won her first competition in 2007. Then, she soon became a member of Houston’s 2008 Slam Team and was featured as “Artist of the Week” in Houston Press Magazine in 2009. By 2010, she began opening for major recording artists, and she now performs in events across the nation such as P4CM’s “Rhetoric” in Los Angeles, the Moody Bible Institute’s “Legacy Conference” in Chicago, Joe Solomon’s “TheCanvas” in Houston, and more. With poems such as “Mic Check” and “Pray for Me” Tina B says, “One of my greatest privileges in poetry is being able to create stories people can relate to that ultimately lead them to Christ.”

Tina B also specializes in writing and performing custom poems for a vast array of events, including ESPN as she performed a custom poem for the Texas A&M’s Women’s Basketball Team (2011 NCAA National Champions). Her custom work has also opened opportunities for her to appear on the KCEN’s Morning Show on NBC, leading radio stations in various cities, several luxury weddings, top tier corporate events, and other special occasions.

Tina B was a member of G-Force Step Team for the Houston Rockets and Houston Comets professional basketball organizations. For three consecutive years, she performed alongside 14 teammates and had the opportunity to perform at the 2006 NBA All-Star game in Houston, TX.
