Tobi is CEO and Co-Founder of Moviepilot, a young media company focusing on social news and fan content around entertainment. With more than 2000 contributors, Moviepilot is building the biggest contributor platform for fans to express themselves and find access to content creators and filmmakers. Moviepilot’s data-driven publishing and analytics technology is redefining online advertising to develop a superior business model for media companies in the digital age.

Tobi and his team work closely with movie studios – including 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures and A24 – on audience segmentation, social media strategy and ad buying optimization, executing multi-platform campaigns for many of Hollywood’s top-grossing movies. Tobi writes Variety’s weekly “Digital Tracking” column, predicting weekend box office outcomes based on social data patterns and Moviepilot’s proprietary digital tracking.

Moviepilot has 60 employees between its Los Angeles and Berlin offices, with Tobi running operations in LA. Prior to Moviepilot, Tobi built a similar business in Berlin, which became Germany’s biggest website for movies and was sold in 2014 for $20 million.

Tobi holds a Master degree in Economics and worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group before becoming a serial entrepreneur and business angel in entertainment and media publishing. He published his first magazine at the age of 9. The Layout was hideous, but the magazine was profitable after two months.
