Tobin Heath is an American professional soccer player, entrepreneur, and artist known for her exceptional skill and versatility on the field. Primarily playing as a forward and midfielder for the United States national team, Heath has had an illustrious international career, winning gold medals at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Summer Olympics, and being part of the World Cup-winning squads in 2015 and 2019. She also earned a silver medal at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup and a bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Renowned for her technical abilities, Heath was described by the United States Soccer Federation as "perhaps the USA's most skillful player." Her outstanding performances earned her the title of U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year in 2016 and U.S. Soccer Young Female Athlete of the Year in 2009.
Heath's club career has been equally impressive. She won two NWSL Championships with the Portland Thorns in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and most recently played for OL Reign in 2022. Her international club experience includes stints with Manchester United and Arsenal in the English FA Women's Super League, as well as Paris Saint-Germain in France. She also played for the Atlanta Beat and Sky Blue FC in the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league.
In addition to her soccer career, Heath is an entrepreneur and artist. In 2019, she co-founded the lifestyle brand re—inc alongside fellow athletes Christen Press, Megan Rapinoe, and Meghan Klingenberg, aiming to challenge the status quo and promote equality and inclusivity. She also co-hosts "The RE—CAP Show" podcast with Christen Press, where they discuss a range of topics from sports to social issues. Recognizing her impact on the global stage, Heath was named to the FIFA FIFPro Women's World11 in 2020. Her contributions to soccer, both on and off the field, have solidified her as a prominent figure in the sport and an advocate for change.
