Tom Bucklar, Caterpillar’s Director of Digital Portfolio Management, is an expert on the Industrial Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics. As Caterpillar continues to focus on services growth and providing customers support throughout the lifecycle of an asset, the ability to connect assets, provide advanced insights and deliver those insights through applications has never been more valuable.

With Bucklar leading Digital Portfolio Management, he and all of Cat Digital (the digital arm of Caterpillar) have the global responsibility of spearheading the company’s digital strategy – providing solutions with Cat Dealers that make owning and operating easier for Caterpillar customers. This includes telematics, web and mobility solutions, and the company’s online experience.

In his almost two decades at Caterpillar, Bucklar has had a focus on dealer development and commercializing technology products and solutions. Prior to joining Caterpillar, Bucklar worked for Motorola as a systems engineer developing and deploying wireless networks.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
