Tom Dawes is a self-confessed "Recovering Manufacturer." After completing his PhD in Supply Chain Collaboration Technologies, Dawes had to choose between embarking on a career in the Technology or Manufacturing sectors. He selected Manufacturing, and after several successful years as an MD within the Aerospace treatments industry, the global downturn in this sector caused him to reevaluate his choice.

Now, as a serial entrepreneur, Dawes has a wealth of experience scaling global manufacturing and technology businesses. He formed Valuechain in 2010, a company that delivers Smart Manufacturing Software. Valuechain Technology provides smart manufacturing software to build world-class supply chains and has established a global client base (from Primes such as Bentley Motors to aerospace micro SMEs in Bangalore) that all share a common goal of integrating their businesses and supply chains to create integrated, innovative, and intelligent value chains. Dawes previously served as CEO before taking on his new role as Executive Chairman.

Dawes' passion for Additive Manufacturing, digitalizing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and creating intelligent collaborative ecosystems has been a driving force behind his professional focus on enhancing productivity and competitiveness.
