President and Scientific Director, Ontario Brain Institute Tom Mikkelsen is the President and Scientific Director of the Ontario Brain Institute (OBI), a provincially funded, not-for-profit research centre that aims to establish Ontario as a world leader in brain research, commercialization and care. Tom has had an impressive career in neurobiology, spearheading the Brain Tumor Program at Henry Ford Hospital, where he was key in building both the clinical trials program and laboratory of tumour biology. In his work with OBI, he advocates for a collaborative approach to science that engages both patients and industry in the process.
