Head Coach of the New York Knicks; Two-Time NBA Coach of the Year

Tom Thibodeau is an American basketball coach who is the head coach for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), becoming the 31st head coach in franchise history. He served as an assistant coach for the United States men's national basketball team from 2013 to 2016, and helped Team USA win a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games.

Thibodeau returned to the Knicks 17 years after his first stint with the team, where he spent seven years as an assistant coach from 1996-2003. In his first season as head coach, Thibodeau guided the team to its first winning season in eight years, and won 2020-2021 NBA Coach of the Year. He had previously won this same accolade in 2011, when he led the Chicago Bulls to a 62-win season.

A former head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls and a veteran of 29 seasons along the NBA sidelines, Thibodeau has led his teams to advance to the postseason in 20 seasons, including three trips to the NBA Finals (1999, 2008, 2010) and, with the Boston Celtics, one NBA Championship in 2008.
