Developer of "Minecraft: Pocket Edition"

Tommaso Checchi is a Senior Software Architect for Microsoft. "Tommo" is a game developer for the best-selling mobile paid game in the world "Minecraft: Pocket Edition," which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. He's currently working on a version of the game for the Oculus Rift and GearVR.

Initially, Checchi wanted to be an artist, but decided to learn programming since he "couldn't wait for people to program for him". Setting his sights on making games, he started with multimedia fusion game makers and later learned C++.

Before working on Minecraft, Checchi was a programmer on Cobalt's game engine.
