Tony Liu is a freelance designer based in New York City. Along with Lindsey Schuyler, he runs the Instagram account, Diet Prada, which exposes and shames brands accused of copycatting, cultural appropriation, and racism, gathering tips from Instagram users. The account has over half a million followers, including Marc Jacobs, Chrissy Teigen and Gigi Hadid, and alerts the public of copycat fashion designs. Diet Prada has caused designers and retailers to apologize for designs or even pull them from shelves.

Liu, who also has his own clothing line sold on Mr. Porter, met his cofounder, Lindsey Schuyler, when they both worked at milliner Eugenia Kim. In the past year, they have called out brands including Dolce & Gabbana, who were forced to cancel a show in Shanghai after racist direct messages from one of the cofounders were surfaced by the account. Running the account is a full-time job for the pair, who also sell Diet Prada merchandise and partner with select fashion brands and more institutions including museums and international fashion councils.
