I am a serial entrepreneur, with intermittent success, professional speaker and published author on enterprising skills for leaders. 2016 is the 20th Anniversary Year since I founded SFEDI - the UK Government recognised Sector Skills Body (includes the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs) for Enterprise and Business Support and the 30th Anniversary Year since co-founding the Business Advisory Bureau Limited. I co-own both organisations.

My own work (HR & Marketing & Enterprise Skills Professional) is primarily with large organisations. Some of this work is advising senior executives as the leading authority on independent BUSINESS OWNER engagement. However, I am best known as a conference speaker, presenter, broadcaster (TV and radio) coach and author of seven books (self help, satire, poetry and fiction). I'm in a hurry to pass on the learning I've gained from so many successful entrepreneurs.

My co-directors and I also provide services on research and business strategy for engaging with and marketing to independent business owners. We assist in the development of enterprise friendly policies, programmes, products, services, training and support..

I was honoured in 2001 with an OBE, presented by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace, for services to small firms and training. I received a Lifetime Achievement Award for Enterprise from the IAB in 2012 and another from Start Your Business Magazine In 2013. Ranked in the Fresh Business /Smith Williamson Power Thinking 100 of influencers on Entrepreneurship for the UK in 2014 and 2016.
