Tory Burch is a fashion designer, businesswoman, and philanthropist. She is the Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of her own brand, Tory Burch LLC.

In 2004, Burch launched her first Tory Burch retail store in Manhattan and on an e-commerce site. She made $100,000 in sales on the store’s opening night. Her brand caught the eye of Oprah Winfrey, and the Tory Burch website received 8 million hits following Burch’s guest appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show." Tory Burch won Best Accessory Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) a few years after her initial launch.

In addition to her retail stores, Burch’s fashion line is carried in over 3,000 department and specialty stores worldwide. The brand has since grown into a global business with boutiques in New York, Paris, and Shanghai. In 2015, she launched Tory Sport, a performance activewear collection that balances cutting-edge functionality with classic design.

Social responsibility has been a part of the company from its inception. In 2009, she launched the Tory Burch Foundation to advance women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship in the United States by providing access to capital, education, digital resources, and a Fellowship program. The foundation's Fellows program has given $1.8 million in grants to 280 businesswomen to help grow their businesses, while the Women of Color Grant Program has given $3.2 million to 240 small businesses. In addition to monetary contributions, the Foundation has provided online education to over 650,000 people.

In June 2020, Newsweek recognized Burch as one of the “50 US Companies That Stood Out During the Pandemic” for providing frontline healthcare workers with $5 million worth of clothing and 3,000 yards of fabric for face masks and hospital gowns.

Burch also serves on several boards, including the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. In addition, she is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the Founding Advisory Council of the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum.
