Treger Strasberg

CEO & Founder of Humble Design; Co-Host of CW's "Welcome Home"

Treger Strasberg established Humble Design in 2009, a national non-profit organization designed to assist families transitioning from homeless shelters by rebuilding their home lives. The mission of Humble Design is to turn a bare, four-walled space into a clean, dignified, and welcoming home by repurposing gently used household goods.

Based on the belief that families emerging from homelessness should enjoy a clean, friendly, and dignified home, Humble Design was born. Most of these families have had to leave behind all their personal items when entering an emergency shelter. The majority do not own beds, books, toys, or furniture.

Humble Design currently operates across 5 cities nationwide and has the capacity to assist up to 11 families per week. Strasberg utilized her 10 years of experience in advertising and marketing, coupled with her BFA from SVA and a non-profit management certificate from Harvard, to build and administer an organization aimed at providing tangible solutions to real problems.

Strasberg's work with Humble Design has caught the attention of many media outlets. The organization has been featured on mainstream platforms such as "The Today Show," "The Rachael Ray Show," CNN, ABC, NBC, "Ford Go Further," "The Meredith Vieira Show," Mitch Albom's "Heart of Detroit," "The Radiant Project," and many others.

She has held multiple board seats, including positions at the Detroit Zoo, The Norman Yatooma Foundation, the Executive Committee of the Michigan Democratic Party, and as a Council Member of Senators Stabenow and Peter's Leadership Council. She is currently the chairwoman of Humble Design. Alongside these roles, Strasberg has also been recognized with various awards and nominations, including two Emmy nominations, ABC World News Person of the Week, 2017 Volunteer of the Year by Governor Snyder in Michigan, and 2020 Woman of Distinction in California. Other accolades include the IIDA Business Innovator, TCH Diversity Award, the Lighthouse Salute America award, Optimist Club's Ruby Award, Girl Scout of America's One Tough Cookie Award, Make your Marc award by Marc Fisher, and Oakland County Executive's Elite 40 Under 40.
