Troy Ave

Rapper, Part of XXL's 2014 Freshman Class

Roland Collins, better known by the stage name Troy Ave, is an American rapper from the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. Before he was signed to Voicez/Universal Def Jam, he was spending his time and any extra money he had recording his music and selling his mixtapes on the streets of Brooklyn. Thanks to Voicez's affiliation with BET, Ave was able to get the video for his song "Rep It wit My Heart" on the show Rap City, even though he had yet to release anything officially, which brought him immediate attention in the mainstream rap community.

His first album was released in 2013, titled “New York City: The Album.” The album features guest appearances from King Sevin, Raekwon, N.O.R.E., Prodigy, Tony Yayo, Pusha T, and Young Lito.

In 2014 Ave was named as a member of XXL’s Freshman Class.

As his latest work, Ave released the fourth volume of his “BSB” mixtape series.
