Trude Mostue

The UK's favourite Scandanavian Vet & Television Presenter.

Trude currently splits her time and TV work between her native Norway and the UK. This busy mum of three manages to juggle a thriving veterinary Practice in Oslo with both her Norwegian and UK based TV work.

A published author and regular columnist, she is always up for a challenge, last year saw her take part in the Norwegian version of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, which she just loved!  Her BBC work includes ‘Vet School’, ‘Vets In Practice’, ‘Vets In The Wild West’, ‘Vets in the Wild’ ‘Vets To The Rescue’, ‘Vets In The Country’. ‘Vets in Africa’ She has also worked for Discovery/Animal Planet on ‘Britain’s Worst Pet’ series.  She also presented a documentary for the Natural History Department of the BBC called ‘Desperately Seeking’ tx BBC1.

Trude’s bubbly personality and enthusiasm for life resulted in her being asked to film three items for BBC 1’s ‘Holiday programme, looking at holidays in such diverse locations as Botswana, her Native Norway and the UK.  She also became the occasional guest Vet on ‘Live & Kicking’ and ‘The Really Useful Show’ both tx on BBC1. During this period she also found time to make guest appearances on The ‘So Graham Norton Show tx Ch4, The Big Breakfast, tx CH4.

She showed us all her versatility when she sang and danced for Children in Need in 2004. That same year she went to Mozambique to film with Graham Norton for Comic Relief.

It has to be said that whilst this very full and varied filming work was happening Trude was starting along the path of her first love as a practicing Vet. Working first in Bristol, then in Frome, Somerset. She then set up in partnership with her friend Maria Lowe a fellow Scandinavian from the TV Series. The girls called the practice ‘Viking Vets’, sadly they were only able to practice together for a year, as Trude’s busy filming and writing commitments made it impossible for her to commit to the hours needed in a busy veterinary practice. So reluctantly she had to resign.

Trude has three published books to date. ‘Wild about Animals’ & ‘Pets in Practice’ both published by Andre Deutch. ‘Vets in the Wild’ published by Box Tree. For the last three years she has been writing a weekly column for a Norwegian Daily Newspaper called VG. She has also contributed to the ‘Pet Slot’ in Sainsbury’s Magazine, also in the ‘Star Pets’ section of The Western Daily and Scottish Sunday Mail.
