True Whitaker is an actress and writer known for "Godfather of Harlem" (2019). Whitaker is the daughter of actor, producer, and activist, Forest Whitaker. The two starred together in Godfather of Harlem and share a common passion for film.

At 18, Whitaker moved from LA to New York City to pursue a degree in creative writing from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Whitaker hopes to continue both acting and writing professionally. In fact, since graduating from NYU, she’s been working on a treatment for a TV series with playwright, screenwriter and director, David Talbert, who is also one of her mentors.
