Tyrese Gibson

R&B Singer, Actor & Author

R&B singer Tyrese began his career at the age of 14, performing in local talent shows around his home in Los Angeles' Watts section; his big break came when he starred in a commercial for Coca-Cola, shortly followed in 1998 by his self-titled debut album for RCA.

A confident and self-assured artist, Tyrese shares his success with his community. In 2003, he released his best-selling album, 2000 Watts, with a portion of the proceeds dedicated to the 2000 Watts Foundation in Los Angeles. The $300,000 he helped raise contributed to the first ever 2000 Watts Boys & Girls Youth Center of Watts. His latest album is the electrifying Open Invitation.

Tyrese has appeared in the television shows Martin and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper as well as commercials and print ads for Tommy Hilfiger. He made his film debut as the star of John Singleton's Baby Boy and in 2 Fast 2 Furious. He has also contributed to the success of Singleton's critically acclaimed action drama Four Brothers. Tyrese could also be seen in the summer action blockbusters Transformers and Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

Most recently, Tyrese has branched into writing. His motivational, inspirational biography, How to Get Out of Your Own Way, is due for publication in April 2011. He also penned the digital comic book MAYHEM!.
