Matthew Shafer, known by his stage name Uncle Kracker, is an American singer and musician who began his career as a turntablist for Kid Rock's backing group, Twisted Brown Trucker. Uncle Kracker ventured into a solo career in 1999, with his singles "Follow Me" and "Drift Away" achieving top 10 positions on the Billboard Hot 100. Uncle Kracker's first solo album, "Double Wide," peaked at Number 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart, marking it as his most successful and highest-selling album to date.

Following the success of "Double Wide," Uncle Kracker continued his musical journey with the release of his second album, "No Stranger to Shame," which reached No. 43 on the Billboard albums chart. Uncle Kracker's subsequent albums, including "Seventy Two and Sunny," "Happy Hour," and "Midnight Special," showcased his versatility in sound, with "Seventy Two and Sunny" notably featuring a pure country sound. After a decade-long hiatus, Uncle Kracker returned to the music scene in 2024 with his album "Coffee & Beer."
