Valerie Coleman Morris is a New York-based anchor for CNN Financial News, the division of the CNN News Group that produces business news for CNN/U.S., CNN International, CNN Headline News, CNN Airport Network, CNNRadio and the Website CNNfn.com. Morris anchors CNNfn's The Flipside focusing on the day’s business events and consumer news, as well as CNNfn’s Smart Assets personal finance segments.

Morris has received various awards including the Black Woman of the Year award, The American Women in Radio and Television’s Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting Award and the Award of Courage from the National Organization for Women. Morris has also been the recipient of three California Emmy Awards for her participation in team coverage of breaking news events and two RTNDA (Radio/Television News Directors Association) Awards.

Morris graduated from San Jose State University in California with a degree in journalism. She received a master’s in broadcasting from the Columbia University School of Journalism, which she attended on a New York Times Fellowship. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
