Dr. Valerie Purdie-Greenaway is a professor in the Department of Psychology at Columbia University and an instructor at Columbia Business School. Her research focuses on how stereotypes about women, ethnic minorities and other diverse groups undermines high performance. She is a thought leader on strategies to break unconscious bias to maximize performance and motivation for all groups.

Purdie-Greenaway is developing virtual workshops and thought papers to help workplaces amplify purpose-driven inclusion and discuss race in the workplace. Select list of clients include Burberry, Goldman Sachs, New York Life and Ernst and Young. Purdie-Greenaway has authored more than 50 publications, and her research has been featured in media outlets such as the New York Times, Fortune Magazine, The Atlantic and Scientific American.

Previously Purdie-Greenaway served on the faculty at Yale University. She completed her doctoral work in psychology at Stanford University. She completed her undergraduate work at Columbia University and lettered in varsity basketball.
