Vernon Jones

Former State Representative for Georgia

Vernon Jones, a former state representative and Democrat, garnered national attention after endorsing Donald J. Trump in the 2020 Presidential Election, and delivering a keynote speech at the 2020 Republican National Convention. Jones officially switched parties and joined the GOP in January 2021. He has since become one of President Trump’s closest allies and consults with him regularly. Jones announced his candidacy for governor in April 2021, becoming the first Republican to challenge Brian Kemp and secure the GOP nomination for the 2022 election. In February 2022, Donald J. Trump endorsed Jones for Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, and Jones entered the race in the last few months with over ten candidates already competing for the Republican seat. Jones still managed to get into the runoff with little time and money. He did not win the runoff but this is just the beginning of his fight for conservative values.

As a Pro-Trump Republican, Jones is running on a America First platform, committed to approaching every issue through the lens of what is in the best interest of Americans. He has a national base and his a key leader in this movement. Jones previously served two tours as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives (1993-2001 & 2017-2021). During his tenure, he held positions on the powerful Appropriations, Banking, Health, Insurance, Commerce, Special Judiciary, and Public Utility committees. He gained the respect of his colleagues by reaching across the aisle to push bi-partisan legislation that crossed regional, geographical, social and economic lines.

In-between his tours in the GA General Assembly, Jones was twice elected as the Chief Executive Officer of DeKalb County, one of Georgia’s largest local governments. DeKalb County has over 700,000 people and an annual overall budget of $3.2 Billion dollars. As CEO, he successfully managed nearly 7,000 employees, directed the day-to-day county operations and presided over all Board of Commissioners meetings. At the age of 39, Jones was the youngest person ever elected to this position. Prior to his time in local and state government, Jones spent 10 years working in finance and IT, in the private sector. He held leadership positions while employed at MCI and BellSouth Cellular. Jones was born on a farm in Laurel Hill, North Carolina. He graduated from North Carolina Central University in Durham, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – concentration: Information Systems.

Jones is a Christian, Patriot, and proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi college fraternity. His motto has long been “Country over Party” and that motto holds true now, more than ever. He is a big of NASCAR; and loves to golf, fish, hunt and generally spend time outdoors. He is committed to fighting against the Establishment and Radical Left in Georgia and this country. He will not be intimidated by politicians, woke corporations, the media, big tech, or out-of-touch Hollywood celebrities. Jones is Pro-Second Amendment, Pro-Life, and Pro-School Choice. He will do everything in his power to safeguard election integrity, restore law and order, and crush cancel culture. He will always put America First!
