Vicki Robin

Author of "Blessing the Hands that Feed Us" and co-author of "Your Money or Your Life"

Sustainability and local food advocate, Vicki Robin, is the author of "Blessing the Hands that Feed Us: What Eating Closer to Home Can Teach Us About Food, Community and Our Place on Earth." Detailing how she learned to live by the principles of what she calls “relational eating,” she tells the story of how she came to only consume food that was grown or produced within 10-miles of her home in Washington’s Puget Sound. This radical experiment in local eating inspired her to investigate how we might restore the vitality of our regional food systems so everyone could have the benefit of relational eating. Called the “prophet of consumption downsizers,” (New York Times), Vicki has appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “Good Morning America” and National Public Radio’s “Weekend Edition” and “Morning Edition.” Her work has appeared in People, AARP, and the Wall Street Journal. She is also the co-author of the New York Times-bestselling Your Money or Your Life.”

Vicki Robin challenges audiences to get active in social and political change, and her inspiring talks outline practical tools for transformation. She’s an experienced speaker and a natural fit for conferences, libraries, and community groups around the country.
