Vinod Khosla is an entrepreneur, investor, and technology fan. He is the founder of Khosla Ventures, focused on impactful technology investments in software, AI, robotics, 3D printing, healthcare and more.

Growing up in an Indian army household without business connections, Khosla's entrepreneurial spirit ignited at 16 when he learned about Intel's founding, inspiring his dream of starting a tech company. After earning his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a master's in biomedical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Khosla pursued his entrepreneurial ambitions in Silicon Valley. He co-founded Daisy Systems, pioneering computer-aided design, and later founded Sun Microsystems, a trailblazer in open systems and commercial RISC processors.

Joining Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers in 1986, Khosla played key roles in challenging industry giants like Intel and Cisco through ventures like Nexgen, Juniper Networks, and Cerent Corporation. In 2004, he launched Khosla Ventures to support both for-profit and socially impactful ventures, driven by a passion for pioneering technologies that benefit society.

Khosla's commitment extends to mentoring entrepreneurs tackling global challenges and supporting microfinance organizations in India and Africa. He serves on the board of Breakthrough Energy Ventures and is a founding member of The Indus Entrepreneurs and the Indian School of Business.
