Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America's Social Justice Scam
New York Times bestselling author Vivek Ramaswamy will discuss the new virus spreading across our country like wildfire, one that even the best of science will not cure. That virus is woke culture. It’s a new secular religion in America, and its belief system centers on the idea that your identity is based on your race, your gender, and your sexual orientation – full stop. It posits that America is a systemically racist country, and that if you are black you are inherently disadvantaged, and if you’re white, you’re inherently privileged – no matter how much money you have or what your upbringing was. Your race and your gender govern who you are and what thoughts you’re allowed to have.
Wokeness has now combined with capitalism to birth "woke capitalism.” In recent years, America's largest corporations have turned their back on America - it's companies like Nike, American Express, Airbnb, United Airlines and even professional sports leagues like the NBA and the MLB. It’s Coca-Cola training its employees on “how to be less white” and issuing public statements about voting laws that make it sound more like a Super PAC than a soft drink manufacturer.
To make matters even worse, China showed up on the scene and is using these woke corporations as trojan horses to undermine the U.S. from within. For example, the NBA regularly decries alleged racial injustice in the U.S., yet doesn’t say a peep as it expands into the Chinese market. In fact, when Darryl Morey once tweeted “Fight For Freedom. Stand With Hong Kong.,” LeBron James – one of the most outspoken critics of President Trump and supporter of Black Lives Matter – immediately came to China’s public defense. Why do these woke corporations and their crony celebrities do this? The answer is simple: money.
Vivek is a traitor to his class. He is a Harvard-trained scientist, a Yale-trained lawyer, a former hedge fund manager, and the founder of multibillion-dollar enterprises. Vivek takes us behind the scenes to expose how the modern woke-industrial complex divides us as a people. By mixing morality with consumerism, America’s elites prey on our innermost insecurities about who we really are. They sell us cheap social causes and skin-deep identities to satisfy our hunger for a cause and our search for meaning, at a moment when we as Americans lack both. Vivek not only rips back the curtain on the new corporatist agenda, but he offers a better way forward. He takes us on a journey that begins with cynicism and ends with hope.
