Wafa Ben Hassine is a writer, human rights advocate, and law student who is interested in developing Tunisian society on the pillars of sustainability and social justice. She is a regular contributor to Nawaat.org, primarily writing about women's rights and transparency in government. Wafa also worked as a legislative assistant to a National Constituent Assembly member, and as the Editor in Chief of Tunisia Live.

Wafa holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and is currently pursuing a J.D. in international human rights and communications law at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. She is a member of the American Civil Liberties Union.
