Wally Adeyemo is the president of the Obama Foundation. He was senior international economic adviser in the Obama White House, and was the first chief of staff for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

In 2020, President-elect Joe Biden selected as his Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, to work directly with the Secretary of Treasury, assisting with economic policy and the financial system. If confirmed, Adeyemo will be the first African American deputy secretary at the Treasury Department.
