Wendelin Slusser  

Associate Clinical Professor, Mattel Children's Hospital, UCLA Schools of Medicine and Public Health; Leader, Healthy Diet and Nutrition Transformation, UCLA Chancellor's Healthy Campus Initiative

Wendelin Slusser is an associate clinical professor at the UCLA Schools of Medicine and Public Health and the leader of Healthy Diet and Nutrition Transformation for the UCLA chancellor's Healthy Campus Initiative. She joined the UCLA faculty in 1996 and has been a leader in community, school, clinic and family-based programs related to health promotion, infant, child and young adult nutrition. Slusser was a member of the Institute of Medicine Committee on Obesity Prevention Policies for Young Children and was the 2010 recipient of the AJHP Robert F. Allen Symbol of H.O.P.E. Award, given to an individual who makes an outstanding contribution to serving the health promotion needs of underserved populations or to promoting cultural diversity within health promotion. Slusser graduated from Princeton and received her medical degree and master's degree in nutrition from Columbia University.
