Wendell Willkie is a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he is working on the governance of America’s public companies, the responsibilities of corporate boards, and the significance of shareholder activism and engagement.

In addition to his legal and corporate work, Willkie has had a distinguished career in government. He has served as an associate counsel to the president at the White House; chief of staff, counselor to the secretary of education, and general counsel at the US Department of Education; general counsel and acting deputy secretary of the US Department of Commerce; and a member of the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations.
