Founder WSL/Strategic Retail

Wendy Liebmann is recognized as one of the innovators of shopper insights. In 1986, Ms. Liebmann founded WSL/Strategic Retail to "get marketers out of their ivory towers to meet shoppers on the selling floor," whether that floor is real or virtual.

As retail strategists and shopping futurists, WSL/Strategic Retail consults with global clients in such industries as retail, beauty, food, beverages, health, home, personal care, entertainment, fashion, publishing, and financial services, to develop strategies based on an understanding of how people shop.

One of the pillars of understanding shoppers is WSL's syndicated How America Shops research, which tracks shoppers' mood, mindset, and behavior. Recent studies include "Where Did the Walmart Shopper Go?" and "From Buzz to Buy, the Impact of Social Media on Shopping & Buying."

Ms. Liebmann has extensive global experience in marketing, retailing, and research, first in her native Australia, then globally. She holds a degree in business and psychology from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

She is frequently called upon by the media to provide insight into the state of retail, and is a recognized speaker, regularly addressing business organizations around the world.
