White Panda, an American music group best known for remixing and releasing mashups, began its journey in the music industry in 2009. Although the effervescent EDM project initially started as a duo, it was down to one member by 2018. By this time, White Panda had managed to top the Hype Machine chart more than two dozen times. The first original single as a solo act, "Hands on Me," was released in June of 2018.
White Panda found success early on various streaming sites and Internet radio. The group released their first mix album, "Versus," in 2009, which was quickly followed by other albums, including "Rematch," "Pandamonium," "Bambooyah!," "Bearly Legal," "The Pawprint," and "Nightclub." By the time "Bambooyah" was released in 2012, they were one of Soundcloud's five most-streamed artists and had already toured nationally, performing at universities and music festivals and touring with celebrated artists such as Mac Miller, Tiësto, and Steve Aoki. Notably, their mashup, "Save Dat One for Me," which was a creative blend of Lil Dicky and Great Food Fine OK, garnered millions of streams.
In 2017, White Panda released the single "Blood on the Dance Floor x Dangerous," a mashup of Michael Jackson's "Blood on the Dance Floor" and "Dangerous" (along with three other MJ tunes), which was included as a bonus track on the posthumous Jackson album, "Scream." This project charted on the Billboard 200 and the White Panda's mashup even reached number 47 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in early 2018. The shift to a solo act for White Panda was officially announced on their Facebook page on June 18, 2018. After the transition, White Panda made a triumphant return to the EDM genre in 2021 with "Nightclub," a nearly 57-minute mix that spans 39 mashups in a continuous mix.
