Professional Football Player in the National Football League; One of the NFL's Most Outspoken Voices Against Domestic Violence

William Gay, the middle brother of 3, was born on January 1st in Tallahassee, Florida. Raised by his Grandmother, Gay attended James S. Rickards High School. He was a notable athlete in both football and track & field and later graduated with honors in 2003. Gay furthered his education and football career at The University of Louisville, where he graduated in 3 and a half years.

Gay was blessed to be drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He would later win Super Bowl XLIII with the Steelers. Throughout his 11 seasons in the NFL, he played for the Steelers and Arizona Cardinals before retiring as a Steeler.

During his career in the NFL, he advocated for Domestic Violence awareness. A subject very near and dear to his heart because of the loss of his mother, Mrs. Carolyn Bryant. Today he speaks to domestic violence shelters to help carry on his mother’s legacy.

Gay is a passionate father, a real estate investor, a restaurant owner, and a high school football coach at his alma mater. Gay continues to serve as a mentor to many of his family members and friends.
