Willow Bay        

Dean of the USC Annenberg School of Journalism

Willow Bay, a veteran television journalist, digital news editor and author, is the Director of the Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California. Bay also serves as Senior Strategic Advisor for the Huffington Post and is a special correspondent for Bloomberg Television.

Based in Los Angeles, Bay has reported from numerous special events for Bloomberg TV, including the Milken Institute Global Conference and the Clinton Global Initiative. Bay also hosted “Women to Watch," Bloomberg TV's primetime program that profiled the next generation of women leaders in various industries. She regularly interviews top business and thought leaders including former President Bill Clinton, Pepsi Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, Vice President Al Gore, IAC Chairman Barry Diller, and former Bear Stearns CEO Alan Schwartz.

From 2007 to 2014, Bay was a Senior Editor at the Huffington Post, managing editorial content and growth initiatives for the on-line news and commentary site. Working closely with founders Arianna Huffington and Ken Lerer, she managed the launch of over a dozen news, business and lifestyle content verticals including 8 metro pages across the country. Bay interviewed investor Warren Buffet, Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg and His Holiness the Dalai Lama, for the site’s first global live-streaming event.

Prior to joining the Huffington Post, Bay was an executive producer and host of Lifetime Television's "Spotlight 25," a multi-platform research initiative and television special. Prior to that, Bay served as an anchor and freelance reporter for NBC News and MSNBC.

In 1998, Bay became was the first woman to co-anchor CNN's financial news program "Moneyline." From 1998 to 2003, Bay held a variety of high-profile anchoring and business reporting roles at CNN, including "Pinnacle," which profiled the personalities and companies behind business news headlines, CNN & Entertainment Weekly and CNN & Fortune.

Earlier in her career, Bay served as a co-anchor of ABC's "Good Morning America" Sunday edition for four years. She was also a correspondent for ABC's "World News Saturday" and "World News Sunday."

From 1991 to 1998, Bay was co-host with Ahmad Rashad of "NBA Inside Stuff," the NBA's weekly magazine show on NBC. She also served as a correspondent for NBC's "Today Show" morning program.

Willow Bay wrote her first book, "Talking to Your Kids in Tough Times: How to Answer Your Child’s Questions about the World We Live In," in 2003.

She graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in literature and received a master's degree from New York University's Stern School of Business.

Willow is currently a Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Center for Early Education. She lives in Los Angeles with her two sons and husband, Robert Iger.
