What does it take to think of "great" ideas even when you are "too busy to be creative?"

How can you overcome the many barriers to acceptance of a great idea? How does creativity relate to intuition? How can you measure and stimulate creative potential? How can you instill "team" creativity? Dr. Winston Brill who has enjoyed three extremely innovative careers is especially experienced to answer these questions.

His first career was professor at the University of Wisconsin, where he won the Eli Lilly Award as "the most outstanding microbiologist under age 40 in the U.S. and Canada," and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Award for "the most important advance in the agricultural sciences." Those two awards were for different discoveries.

In 1981, he co-founded, and became vice president of R&D at Agracetus, a biotech company purchased by Monsanto and PowderJect Vaccines. Through Agracetus’ achievements, Winston was featured by Business Week as one of the "top ten most innovative researchers." He was also elected to the National Academy of Sciences.

Winston left R&D management in 1989 to begin his third career, consulting with organizations in any field to stimulate creativity and innovation. For the past decade, he’s been publishing the popular monthly Innovative Leader and is currently writing a book on the new concepts he has developed.

His unique and practical views come from his own management experiences, his interest in the arts, his consulting with numerous corporations, and his extensive study of the human side behind the origins of hundreds of "great" ideas.

Through a vibrant talk with fascinating examples, Winston gives audiences a visceral feel of what each person needs to do to achieve innovative success. Anyone at any level in any discipline will find the talk inspiring and valuable.

Winston has been recognized for his expertise on creativity and innovation. He was twice invited as a nominator for the MacArthur Fellows "Genius" Award. Winston was featured on public television’s NOVA and has also testified on innovation before U.S. Senate and House subcommittees.
