Co-Founder and Head of Public Relations,React and Change Organization

A student of Economics from Manaus, is the Co-founder and Head of Public Relations of React & Change. It is Latin America’s first youth-led and online-driven organization to promote gender equality and combat youth apathy in Brazil. He is currently a part of the British Council - Global Changemakers network, and the U.S Ambassador’s Youth Council for the U.S State Department Mission in Brazil, a national civic engagement project building connections with local communities, after being chosen as a member of the inaugural council. In 2009, Wirlesson was nominated and became a Youth Ambassador of the Americas by the US Embassy in Brazil; In 2010 he represented Brazil at the Young Leaders Summit in South Africa; In the same year, he was awarded a full scholarship to study Advanced English and Public Speaking at the University of California Riverside in the United States during the winter quarter; In 2011, he was awarded as the “Hero of the Millennium” by IAVE and Partners of America at the II World Summit for Youth Volunteering in Colombia. In 2012 he represented Brazil at the Global Youth Summit in London. Wirlesson loves to travel and meet people from all ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds. His smile, spirit, and joy of life are contagious and he continues to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
