Yai Vargas
Vice President of Strategic Engagements, Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility; Founder & Former CEO of The Latinista; Career Diversity & Inclusion Strategist
Yai Vargas leads the strategy development and execution of custom diversity, equity, and inclusion training and development programs for Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility’s member organizations and other corporate stakeholders. As a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Consultant, she also helps organizations develop engaging programming focused on culture, career, and leadership development. Her work extends to Employee Resource Group program design, launching and leading various corporate ERGs that drive business results to the bottom line.
Vargas, also known as The LinkedIn Ninja, joins HACR with over 15 years of professional experience in multicultural marketing, diversity and inclusion strategy, and community engagement. She utilizes her expertise on LinkedIn to help organizations recruit and source diverse talent while ensuring their hiring process is inclusive. Prior to joining HACR, Vargas ran a successful DE&I consulting business designing inclusive programs for increased productivity, employee engagement, and culture change. Her work involved assessing companies and co-creating necessary content to bridge them with the most diverse and technical talent out there.
Vargas sits on the benefit board for The Latino Commission on AIDS and is founder of The Latinista, a national organization for Latinas and women of color invested in skills development and career mobility. The Latinista offers a series of skill-building, activity-driven sessions specifically designed to help identify and sharpen career and business acumen required to achieve professional goals. The organization has chapters in New York City, Chicago, Miami, and California. Her work in this space helps individuals articulate the work they do, the people they serve, and the communities they hope to build – all via LinkedIn.
