Yanky Fachler    

Ireland's Leading Raconteur, Author and Historian of the Irish Jewish Community

Historian and broadcaster Yanky Fachler was born in the UK to parents who escaped as teenagers from Nazi Germany. He had a yeshiva education, and after completing his BA and MA in London, he lived in Israel for many years before moving to Ireland.

Yanky is the founder and chair of the Jewish Historical Society of Ireland and is involved in Ireland's annual Holocaust Memorial Day. He is the author of a dozen books on Zionist history, the history of the Irish Jewish community and business. Yanky has addressed audiences in Ireland, the UK, Israel, the USA, Poland and the Czech Republic.

He is married to Mona Mia and his parents live in Jerusalem. He has a son in California and a son and three grandchildren in Israel.
