Yap Kwong Weng is the Secretary-General of the United Nations Association of Singapore and founded its Youth Council in 2010. In this capacity, he strengthened the organization and initiated several community and social outreach projects. Described as 93.8 Live's ?Passion People?, he trekked across 100 km across the world's largest non-polar Taklamakan desert to raise awareness about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Yap graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. He earned an MBA from the University of Manchester and holds a Master's degree from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Yap was selected as one of Singapore's Young Outstanding Singaporeans in 2011, and was chosen by Rotary International as the first Singaporean to become a Rotary Peace Fellow in 2012.
