Yara Argueta is Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Solid, a leading paint company in Central America. Grupo Solid has a wide distribution network, which includes more than 6,400 independent dealers and 77 company-owned paint stores, with exports to Belize, Mexico and the Caribbean. Prior to Grupo Solid, Argueta served as Industrial Engineering Director at Universidad Rafael Land?var (2004-2005) and a Professor of Business Administration and Marketing (2000 to 2003). She has also been an Electoral Coordinator during last four Guatemalan presidential elections. Argueta is a Member of the Central America Leadership Initiative/Aspen Global Network, Vice-President and Mentor of the Guatemalan Chapter of Vital Voices and Board Member of the Guatemalan Board of INCAE Business School. She has been named one of the five most admired women in Central America by the business magazine Estrategia y Negocios for three consecutive years (2008, 2009 and 2010). Argueta has an MBA from the INCAE Business School and an Industrial Engineer degree, with honours, from Universidad Rafael Landivar.
