Yoshinobu Nagamine  

Researcher, Secretariat of the International Peace Corporation Headquarters Cabinet Office of Japan

Yoshinobu Nagamine set up the Tokyo Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), whose mandate is to assist and protect victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence. Previously, he served in Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prior to joining the ICRC, he worked with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for the tsunami relief efforts in Banda Aceh, the Afghan presidential elections in Pakistan and served at the organization's headquarters in Geneva. He earned MAs from Waseda University in Tokyo and the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, and has a language certificate from Zhejiang University, People's Republic of China. He is currently a PhD candidate in Human Security Studies at the University of Tokyo.
