Yuka Saso

LPGA Tour Professional, Two-Time U.S. Women's Open Champion

Yuka Saso, a Japanese-Filipino professional golfer, made her mark in golf at a young age. After beginning her training at the age of eight, she went on to win numerous amateur tournaments, including the World Junior Girls Championship in 2016. Her early success paved the way for her professional career, which officially began in November 2019. Saso's first professional victory came shortly after, at the NEC Karuizawa 72 Golf Tournament in 2020.

Saso's career continued to flourish as she made history on multiple occasions. She won the first ever gold medal for the Philippines in both women's individual and women's team event in Asian Games golf competitions. Moreover, she became the first Filipino to win the U.S. Women's Open in 2021, a feat she repeated in 2024. She is currently ranked 6th in the Women's World Golf Rankings.

Having represented both the Philippines and Japan in international golf competitions, Saso started officially competing for Japan in 2022. Not only has she been a strong presence in the professional circuit, but also an influential figure in major events like the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where she finished 9th in the women's individual event.
