Zachary Kaplan

Vice President at General Atlantic; Forbes Venture Capital "30 Under 30"

Zachary Kaplan is a Vice President at General Atlantic focusing on investments in the Internet & Technology sector, based in the firm’s New York office. He joined GA in 2010 and serves on the board of directors for Vox Media, Flipp, and OneCountry, and is closely involved with the firm’s investments in Red Ventures, Garena, and Tory Burch.

Prior to joining GA, Zack was an investment banker at Greenhill & Co. in the mergers & acquisitions and restructuring advisory groups.

Kaplan has been an investor at growth-stage expert General Atlantic since July 2010. He's a board member of Vox Media, which raised $200 million at a valuation of about $1 billion in August 2015, and Gilt Groupe, which reached its own billion-dollar valuation but was reportedly in talks to be acquired for a quarter of that in December. No matter for Kaplan, who has shown off a touch for media by sourcing both Vox and BuzzFeed, which raised at a $1.5 billion valuation in the summer of 2015, one year before their unicorn-making rounds. Kaplan is also a board observer at Red Ventures and Acumen Brands.
