Zahid is a global ‘faith activist’ whose roots lie in Northern Iran and Pakistani Occupied Kashmir. Graduate of Keele, Rhodes and Cambridge, Zahid is in the process of pursuing PhD research in Muslim-Jewish relations and the impact religion can have on integration within States. Zahid holds religious Ijazh (analysing authorisation) in Islamic Shariah Law & also in a number of prominent 13th Century Hadith- he has also an extended knowledge of Islamic Human Rights in the Middle East & North Africa region. Zahid’s academic interest in Muslim integration in Europe alongside his active role in civil society has led to the initiation of number of programmes to help bridge the knowledge gap and increase tolerance towards Muslims in Europe. Founder of the ILM Foundation, Andrhal Welfare Trust and the international “I Am European” campaign. Currently working as Director of Public Relations at the Madina Institute. Nominated for the Muslim Beacon Award UK 2010 and selected as one of the 100 Future Leaders of the UK.
