A. Jerrold Perenchio is the former chairman and CEO of Univision, the largest Spanish language company in the United States.

The shy media mogul made his start in Hollywood at MCA working as an agent to stars like Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor. From there Perenchio built up a media empire creating Embassy Communications with former TV producer Norman Lear. A. Jerrold Perenchio eventually sold his shares of the communications company to Coca-Cola in 1985 for $485 million. In 1992 he bought a struggling Univision from Hallmark for $550 million. The media mogul helped to transform the station into a juggernaut and in the last year he sold it for $13.7 billion.

Perenchio is known for being very media shy, shunning press attention for both himself and Univision. Currently Perenchio’s fortune is an estimated $3.1 billion making him the 131st richest person in America. He is one of the largest landowners in Malibu and is actively involved in politics, donating $500,000 to John McCain’s campaign in 2008. A. Jerrold Perenchio is available for speaking engagements, hosting and corporate appearances.
