Student Activist with March for Our Lives

Bria Smith is a teenage activist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She advocates for the youth who go unnoticed, silenced and forgotten. She is very active within her community, joining non profits that benefit youth of color and promote succession and achievement. She sits on the 6th district representative chair of the Milwaukee Youth Council, won Miss Juneteenth for 2017 and is dedicated to giving girls of color the platform to speak about their experiences with discrimination and oppression. She envisions peace and posterity for those around her and follows the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Smith has spoken about the importance of reducing gun violence for years. After the Parkland Shooting, she was invited to speak at a March For Our Lives discussion panel in Milwaukee. Because of its success, she later joined the tour to speak across the country. Smith speaks about neighborhood and suicide gun violence that is often underrepresented in the media.
